About
Meet Mario
The person behind MM Wallcovering — one installer, start to finish, on every single job.
I'm Mario Mercado, owner of MM Wallcovering. For more than 10 years I have been installing wallpaper in homes and commercial spaces across Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Connecticut — and I still do every installation myself.
That means when you call, you talk to the same person who will measure your walls, tell you exactly how much paper to order, and hang it. No crews you have never met, no surprises — just careful, clean work: patterns matched, corners sharp, seams invisible, and your floors and furniture protected from the moment I walk in.
Most of my work comes from happy clients and their referrals. MM Wallcovering is rated 5.0 on Google across 78 reviews, with 72 more reviews on Thumbtack, where I was named a Top Pro from 2021 to 2024. The business is licensed and insured, and every estimate is free and exact.
Whether it is one accent wall in your home or a full hotel corridor, I treat every wall like it is going on my own house. If you are not sure where to start, send me photos of your walls — I will be happy to help you figure out the paper, the quantity and the plan.

Mario replaced the wallpaper in both my dining room and foyer. Fairly priced, he worked diligently over 4 days to ensure the end result was truly perfect. He left my space cleaner than he found it. Highly recommend! 10/10

Mario is excellent to work with. His most recent work was wallpapering our living room and bedroom. Both spaces came out perfect. Very professional, friendly and worked within our budget.

MM Wallcovering did a great job with a lot of attention to detail, especially given the shape of my wall/window — highly recommend for wallpapering services.
Omar R.Thumbtack review · September 6, 2024
Mario did a great job installing some peel and stick wallpaper in our bathroom. He said it would take 6-8hrs and that's exactly how long it took. He showed up on time. And he did excellent work (the pattern of the wallpaper in particular was lined perfectly and the seems are not noticeable at all). Highly recommend.
Kyle H.Thumbtack review · May 21, 2024

Russ J.Thumbtack review · January 30, 2024
Mario did an absolutely fantastic job and communication was great throughout. We had a complicated pattern to line up using peel & stick paper and I am so pleased with how it turned out and would highly recommend!!
Laura A.Thumbtack review · January 12, 2024
Mario did an outstanding job wallpapering my daughter's room. It was a very tricky job because, as it is a very old house, everything is misaligned, but he did a first class job on it, it looks amazing and we are all thrilled. The wallpaper also had a complex pattern on it, but he took great care to align everything perfectly. He really thought through all the details. I can recommend Mario wholeheartedly for any wallpapering job, even if complicated. His work is immaculate and he is very easy to deal with.
Beatrice C.Thumbtack review · November 20, 2023
Mario was fantastic, prompt and the finished product came out great. We had him wallpaper a single bedroom wall with a high quality wallpaper and it came out perfect 👌. Looking forward to working with Mario again in the future! Matt

He's also organized and tidy and kept my space clean and clear during and after the project. I am very happy with his work that I'm communicating with him right now about a future project!
